Former trade minister Tim Groser still isn’t quite over a “disaster” meeting with the Gulf states more than a decade ago.
That attempt to seal a free-trade deal in Saudi Arabia, he says, was “the worst trip I ever undertook as a minister” – marred by a helicopter crash, lack of preparation and a dispute over live exports.
